Terms of Service

1. What this service is

PobytCheck gives AI-generated, structured-question guidance about Slovak residence-permit renewals, built from public government sources. For the Employment/same-employer renewal pathway, a free automated checklist tells you which documents your situation appears to require. This is research input, not legal advice, and has not been reviewed by qualified immigration counsel.

2. The paid Document Readiness Check — €9.99

Once your case gets a "supported" free checklist, you may optionally pay a one-time fee of €9.99 to have PobytCheck's AI assess the actual document files you upload against that checklist. What €9.99 buys you:

• One AI-assisted readiness check across the documents you upload for your case, plus
• One free recheck — you may re-upload corrected documents once and run the check again at no extra charge, within the same 72-hour window described in section 5 below.

This is a technical, automated document-quality check — not a legal opinion, and not a review by a lawyer, immigration adviser, or any other qualified professional. It looks at narrow, observable things: whether a scan is readable, whether it looks like the right kind of document, whether an expected signature appears present, whether a date suggests the document has expired, and whether names or dates line up across the documents you uploaded. It does not, and cannot, promise, predict, or guarantee that the Foreign Police, the Ministry of Interior, or any other authority will accept your documents or your application. Only the competent authority can decide that.

3. No professional reviews your documents

No lawyer, immigration adviser, notary, or other qualified professional looks at your documents or your report at any point in this service. Every observation in your report — readable/degraded/illegible, signature present/missing, expired/not expired, name or date mismatches, and so on — is produced entirely by an automated AI process, never by a human reviewer on PobytCheck's side.

4. Payment and refunds

The fee is €9.99, charged once per case through Stripe Checkout at the time you start the readiness check. PobytCheck's own servers never receive or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly (see our Privacy Notice).

Full refund: if a technical fault on PobytCheck's own side stops us from delivering a report at all — for example, our systems fail outright or time out due to a bug or outage on our end — contact us and we will refund the €9.99 in full.

No refund for disagreeing with the findings: we do not offer a refund simply because you disagree with, dislike, or are disappointed by what your report says. The findings reflect what our AI actually observed in the documents you uploaded — they are not an editorial judgment we can revise on request. If the report correctly flagged something about the file you gave it, that is the service working as intended, not a failure of it.

5. Time limits — 72 hours

You have 72 hours from the moment of payment to upload your documents, run your check, review your report, and — if you choose to use it — complete your one free recheck. Your uploaded documents, the AI's extracted data, and your generated report are automatically and permanently deleted 72 hours after payment. This window cannot be extended. We recommend completing the whole process in one sitting.

6. Maximum documents per case

You may upload up to 12 documents per case (this limit may change; the app will tell you the current limit and how many you have used). This is a practical guardrail, not a legal limit on how many documents your actual application may need.

7. Deleting your data — always available, always your choice

You can delete your data at any time, using the in-app buttons provided:

• "Delete uploaded documents & report" — removes your uploaded files, the AI's extracted data, and your generated report, while keeping your case and free checklist.
• "Delete case now" — also deletes your case's answers and free-checklist result, in addition to everything above.
• "Delete account" — deletes every case you have, in addition to everything above, and then deletes your account itself.

Payment and billing records are kept separately from these deletions for as long as accounting law requires, regardless of which of these buttons you use — see our Privacy Notice for exactly what that means.

8. No guarantee of any legal outcome

Nothing in this service — the free checklist, the paid document check, or the report it produces — is a promise, prediction, or guarantee about whether any authority will accept your application, grant your permit, or reach any particular decision. Always verify current requirements directly with the competent authority, and consult a qualified immigration professional for anything this service tells you it cannot determine.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. A material change is reflected in a new policy version, and you may be asked to re-accept before continuing to use paid features.

Privacy Notice

1. What we collect and why

We collect: your account email address (to sign you in and contact you about your case); the answers you give to the residence-permit questions in this tool (to generate your free checklist); and, only if you choose to pay for the document readiness check, the actual document files or images you upload (to generate your paid report). We use this data only to generate your free checklist and, where you have paid, your document readiness report — nothing here is used for any other purpose, and nothing is sold.

If you choose to add them in "My account," we also store your first name, last name, and phone number. These fields are entirely optional — no pathway or paid check requires them — and are used only to personalize your account, never shared or used for any other purpose.

2. Where your data is stored

All data described above is stored with Supabase, in the EU (eu-west-1 region).

3. Who else processes your data, and why

Stripe processes your payment for the €9.99 document readiness check. Stripe Checkout collects your card details directly — PobytCheck's own servers never receive, see, or store your raw card data at any point.

OpenAI performs the AI analysis of your uploaded documents. Each document image is sent to OpenAI's API as part of a single per-request call — it is not uploaded to any persistent OpenAI file storage, and it is not used to train OpenAI's models. However, OpenAI retains the content of API requests internally, for up to approximately 30 days, for its own abuse-monitoring purposes, under OpenAI's standard API terms. We are stating this honestly rather than claiming zero retention: PobytCheck does not have an enterprise Zero Data Retention agreement with OpenAI, so this 30-day internal retention on OpenAI's side is real and applies to every document you upload for the paid check.

4. Retention and deletion — 72 hours

Your uploaded documents and generated report are automatically and permanently deleted 72 hours after payment, whichever comes first relative to whether you have deleted them yourself. You do not need to do anything for this automatic deletion to happen — but you can also act sooner, using the in-app buttons:

• "Delete uploaded documents & report" erases: your uploaded document originals, the AI's extracted data about them, and your generated report. Your case and free-checklist answers are not affected.
• "Delete case now" erases everything above, plus your case answers and free-checklist result.
• "Delete account" erases everything above for every case you have, plus your account itself.

In every one of these cases, your billing/payment records are retained separately, for the period required by accounting law, and are not affected by case or account deletion — this is a legal record-keeping requirement, not a choice we are making about your personal data.

5. Our promise to you

We use your documents only to generate your PobytCheck report. We do not sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train our own models. You may delete your case immediately. Otherwise, uploaded documents are automatically deleted 72 hours after the final report.

6. Your rights

You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time. The in-app deletion buttons above are the fastest way to exercise your right to erasure; you can also contact us directly for any other data request.
